An older man moved in next door. A silver fox, if you will. He appeared single, I would watch from my window as her would bring home different women. All of them younger than him and seemingly more than willing to have all his attention. I grew jealous, watching this parade of other women getting attention from the man I had a growing crush on.
It was a silent crush, though. I was afraid he wouldn’t pay me any mind at my age. So, instead of pursuing my desires, I watched him from my side of the street and fantasized about all the ways he’d touch me. About the things he would teach me about my body and his. I ached for it. I longed to strut across the street and yell, “Take me! Make me yours!” But I was too afraid until I was forced to make a move.
