Mommy Anna was having guests over and she sent little Ronnie to the store to bring back a pannetone. She laid out her special doilies, with espresso and cookies, and her pannetone was going to be the star of the dining table. Ronnie rode his bike to the store, but when he got there, he got distracted from the lineups, noises, crying babies and elderly ladies haggling at the deli, he grabbed the first pannetone he saw, paid for it with the money mommy gave him and out the door of the bakery he went as the bells and chimes of the door jingled with it shut.
Mommy sends Ronnie to the store
Ronnie raced home on his bike, burst through the front door and said: ‘’Mommy, mommy! Look, I got the panettone!’’ Mommy Anna came rushing over to greet and thank her little boy, but as she took the box from him, she noticed there was a big white Vanilla flower on it. ‘’Ronnie,’’ said mommy Anna. This isn’t the right panettone. ‘’It isn’t?! but that’s all they had mommy.’’ Said Ronnie.
Mommy Anna got on the phone with Tony, the butcher at the deli sangweech counter, the phone wrang forever, finally Tony rudely answered: ‘’Ya, wha?!’’ ‘’Tony,’’ Mommy Anna began. As she spoke her voice trailed off in the distance, for Ronnie began to sweat as his heart beat faster. He knew he had made a mistake but he hadn’t done it on purpose. He was met back with reality hearing mommy Anna say: ‘’Ok thanks Tony,.’’ As she hung up the receiver of the rotary phone.
‘’Ronnie!’’ Mommy Anna started, “you bought the wrong panettone!’’ ‘’Mommy, it’s not my fault!’’ Ronnie protested. But it was too late, he knew what was coming next. Ronnie tried and tried to argue, but it was no use. Mommy told him that he was going to learn a lesson that day. She gave him the choice: Either he pull down his pants himself or she do it for him… Next he would be on her knee. And the lesson of the panettone and paying attention was one he would never forget…Mommy Anna doesn’t allow anything Vanilla in her house!
