It’s a curious thing when you start exploring the occult. Most don’t know what is real and what is movie magic. Well, I’m here to tell you that what you’ve seen is nowhere near what you are going to get! So you decided to search authentic occult bookstores, and you did your research. Had to go on the dark web to find the authentic forums that will help you find legitimate shops. Congrats, but that’s literally just step one. If you want to meet me, you’re going to have a lot more work in front of you!
You go alone, at sunset, just as you were instructed. You walk around a corner to a suddenly alien and unfamiliar part of town. You’ve lived in this city for so long and have never seen anything like this! When you find the shop, not by address but by description, you hesitantly walk in.
A Curious Thing
Behind the front counter is an alt girl with a septum piercing and grungy clothes. Patchouli hits your nose immediately, along with dirt and old paper. It feels oddly damp in here, and the lighting is all candles. Seems rather dangerous for a bookstore. You walk in, and she says nothing. She eyes you up and down carefully and then points to a bookshelf back in a corner.
“Third row, fifth book from the left”
You thank her and make your way over, not considering that you hadn’t told her what you were looking for. When you bring it up to the counter, she grins at you, knowingly, and asks you one question.
“Do you know what this book does? Like, do you really know the journey you are going on if you manifest Her?”
You weakly nod your head yes and pull out cash to pay.
“No, your payment will come in due time. And I won’t be the one collecting. You may call her Francie. But just a little advice. You’ll have better luck calling her Mistress of the Dark, or Her Lady Torment.”
So will you still go through with it? Will you follow through with your plans to summon a creature from the darkness?
