Spring is such a beautiful time to take your babies outside and let them run amok. Educational nature walks are so good for rambunctious boys like Daipie. Inside, they feel cooped up and become a tad destructive, especially after such a long, cold winter of not being able to get outside in the fresh air and stretch their legs.
I dressed my little stinker in his favorite dinosaur diapers and a little teeshirt. Then we tied on his hiking boots, and I got such a giggle out of how cute he looked with naked legs and a padded bottom. Once his boots were on, it was impossible to keep him inside any longer, so we trotted out into the backyard and through the gate towards the hidden path in the treeline.
DaipieBoy’s Nature Walk
The sunlight filtered through the dripping trees above us. The rain had ended only a few hours ago, and everything was still wet. Making the forest feel like a forbidden land, untouched by humans. There was magic hidden under every rock and branch for Diapie to discover.
He squatted down to sniff at the blooming flowers and to inspect the critters that crawled over their petals. I squealed when he held up a slithering danger noodle, but he said it was just his friend. Yuck! The boy isn’t afraid of anything. We wandered deeper into the woods, enjoying the quiet sounds of a whole other world, when a smell hit my nose. One I was not expecting! I hadn’t brought any spare pampers with us because I had already changed his messy pants earlier. I didn’t think he’d have to go again so soon. “Pewyou!” I scolded him, but he shrugged and kept looking for new friends and finds. “Can’t you smell that?” I asked, and he just smiled.
“Nope!” It was going to be one heck of a big mess by the time we got back home to change him!
