Every girl looks forward to her birthday. It’s a special day when everything is about her. She should be the center of the universe, and Kayla is no different. She was so excited about her party. We spent hours on details for the invitations, decorations, and party favors. She meticulously picked her party outfit and the catering that would wow her guests.
Everything was picture-perfect, until her little brother, Mr. Stinkypampers, did what babies do best. You guessed it! Kayla called me almost in tears, wailing, “Please, Stinkypants Detective, come quick. I know he is here, I can SMELL him, but I can’t find him! I need your nose!”
The Stinker That Ruined Kayla’s Birthday Party
There are plenty of places for a stinker to hide during a big party like hers. It was going to take a lot of sniffing to uncover where that nasty present her brother had cooked up for her was hiding.
Kayla met me in the driveway, and I complimented her stunning party dress. She looked so beautiful, but she waved her hand at me and dabbed her blotchy, teary face. “Please, Mama, he’s ruining everything! All of my guests are gagging and yelling ‘Peeyouu!’ I’ve called his name only a hundred times, and he won’t come out, so I can change his Pampers.
I looked around at the party scene. Balloons and streamers, all in bright colors, to celebrate such a cheerful girl waved and bobbed everywhere, but a heavy stink wafted around the partygoers like a hazy green fog of stink!
I sure had my work cut out for me, but there was no diaper I couldn’t detect!
